A Little Befuzzeled

Just wanted to check this app out that was on my puter!  It seems I can add to my blog from my desktop.  Think I will like this!

My first try at this

I thought I would give TAST a go after seeing the posts from last week.  I read somewhere (and for the life of me I can't remember where) that Press and seal was ideal for transferring an image to be embroidered.  Tried it and found I had a hard time getting it off after the graphic was finished.  Maybe it is because of the state of my hands!
This week the stitch is the buttonhole stitch.  I still haven't mastered taking pictures yet.  Here is my go at it.

Finished Top

I finally finished the quilt top!  The pictures are not great.  Now I can see all of the mistakes I made, but I had great fun making it.  I had a chance to learn some new stitches and play with my beads and ribbon.  Now on to putting it together.

Another panel for quilt.

I finished another panel.  My photographing skill leave something to be desired.  I tried to do the braid stitch for the frame on the "Space Jam" graphic.  More practice is definitely required to even make it look like a braid stitch.  It does serve it's purpose here.

For My Stinky Lover

A reversible purse for my grand daughter.  It is a Martha Stewart pattern that I butchered.  Very typical of me.

More of my latest obsession!

I am a person who finds rules, patterns and instructions very confining.  I do understand that rules, patterns and instructions are so very useful and have their place but, whenever possible I like to have my way!  I made somewhat of a design for my quilt and then did my own thing.

From here I only had a loose idea about what I wanted.  Problem is, most of the things I wanted to do from here are way beyond my capabilities.  I am having so much fun figuring out how to handle most of this.  I started trying to put things directly on the recycled jeans.

This proved to be very painful.  Couldn't maneuver it on the sewing machine so ended up having to do it by hand.  Real messy I know.  Then I decided to put everything else on little panels.  That was not a pretty sight when I tried to attach it to the quilt.  Anyway I am going to keep at it until I just get to frustrated.  Any ideas and suggestions are welcome!

Another panel

Another panel for the quilt.  Finished two but, couldn't get a nice picture of other one.  Will try again tomorrow!  This is so much fun.  I never have a project completely planned out when I start on it.  Playing in my supplies is so much fun!  Some of which I forgot were there.  The tree pattern came from Wee Folks Art.  They have a nice selection of applique to choose from.

I started with the idea of making a quilt as a venue for some of the small pieces I had embroidered.  The quilt is made of recycled jeans.  Here is one of the panels to go on it.  The quilt is to be for one of my grand daughters, so I included some of her favorite things.  This owl and many of the other pieces came from the DMC website. and the stump was found at http://weefolkart.com/?q=node/271.

Going Green with crafts

Made a grand daughter a backpack from recycled jeans!  Had such a great time doing it, I think I will surprise a few more of my grand daughters!
